The first 100 days of Barack Obama’s presidency are now over and I still feel as if I am dreaming. I still cannot believe we have an African-American president. If you had told me two years ago that Mr. Obama would be president, I would have laughed in your face. Not because I did not believe he was capable, but because I did not believe our country was ready. I was wrong, but I was not the only one. Not many people believed that Obama could do it. But that did not matter because he believed.
So what does that have to do with weight loss? In two words: Not Much! But it has everything to do with self-confidence.
Two Types Of People
There are two types of overweight people:
- Those who believe they cannot lose weight and keep it off, and
- Those who believe they can lose weight and keep it off.
Which group of people is correct? Both of them. Those who believe they cannot, cannot. Those who believe they can, can. Believing in yourself is the first mandatory step towards permanent weight loss. Without it, you will fail.
