I ate the same way when I was younger.
Your metabolism was faster then and you were more active. Eat less.
I am a mother who had three children.
Now, you want to blame your poor children for your unhealthy weight. Pregnancy puts a woman's body through multiple changes. However, after delivering your child/children, you should have spoken to your obstetrician about a diet and exercise program. As a mother, you should lose weight for yourself and to set an example for your impressionable children. Eat less now so you will be able to play with your grandkids one day.
I am always hungry.
No, you just always want to eat. If your body was truly hungry, it would not be storing extra calories as body-fat. Body-fat tells you that you are eating too much. You are mistaking hunger with greed.
I will start next week / month / year.
How long have you been saying that? If you are truly serious about getting healthy, you will start today. A few extra days or weeks of overeating is not going to make changing your life any easier. Stop lying to yourself about what you are going to do next month. Start eating less today.
My family/friends like to eat out.
Just because those around you are overindulging, doesn't mean you have to. Offer to share a main course with someone or put half of your meal in a doggie-bag before you even start eating. Your good habits may just rub off on someone else.
If I eat less, I will have less energy.
If you don't starve yourself and eat at least 1200 calories a day, you will have plenty of energy. Actually as you lose weight you will have more energy.
If I eat less, my metabolism will slow down.
If you don't starve yourself, eat at least 1200 calories a day, and eat at least 4 times a day, your metabolism will not be compromised.
It is really easy to sit down and make excuses for why you have not lost the weight you want to lose. It would be harder but more productive to stop making excuses and start strategizing solutions to help you drop the pounds and keep them off.
