Weight loss occurs in the body, but it starts in the brain. Your body will not lose weight and keep it off if your mind is not ready to let it. That is the reason that billions of American dollars are spent on the physical side of weight loss every year, but two-thirds of our adults and one-third of our children remain overweight.

You can spend as much money as you like on diet and exercise, but you will not get anywhere until you address the mental blocks that are preventing your permanent weight loss.

Planning: Weight loss will not happen by accident. You will not stumble onto permanent weight loss. Every component of your weight loss needs to be pre-planned and executed to the best of your ability.

Patience: It took a long time for you to get to your current weight, so don’t expect to lose the weight overnight. Large lifestyle changes lead to fast temporary weight loss. Small lifestyle changes lead to slow permanent weight loss.

Perseverance: Surprise!! You are human. You are not perfect. You will stumble often and fall occasionally. Expect it and get over it. If you persevere through the tough times, you will drop the pounds and keep them off.

Positive Thinking: If you don’t believe you will lose the weight, then you will not. It is as simple as that. You must be optimistic to achieve permanent weight loss. Positive thinking affects you mentally and physically. Optimism affects your body physically and directs all of your actions. Believe in yourself and you can accomplish anything.
